march was an important month for us — it was the month we listed our house after exactly 10 years and now we’re in escrow (!!!) i’ll share more about all of that once everything is finalized, but for now — all the wheels are in motion for our big move!
obviously it’ll be bittersweet moving out of the place we brought both babies home to, but right now i'm just feeling excited and hopeful. it’s pretty much consuming my whole entire life and brain so i’m just ready to find our new house and start our new life already!
what i’ve made

turkey chili — if you can believe it, i’ve never made turkey chili before! arlo has a bean aversion but the rest of us love it so i went for it (and made a separate batch without the beans for arlo, who actually LOVED it the most!) i used this simple recipe but ended up adding a sweet potato as well as more liquid and bouillon.

salmon three ways — we ordered groceries and got way too much salmon delivered so i had a ton leftover i had to eat (i’m the only one in our house who seems to obsessively care about using up our leftovers and pretty much the only one willing to eat leftover salmon!) all three meals were totally unique from each other!
slow roasted citrus salmon — a go-to weekly staple, pretty much alison romans recipe that has slowly evolved over the years, i love that i can prep in advance, do the whole thing right in the baking dish, and have the veggie cooking at the same time in the oven (pretty much always asparagus) and microwave jasmine rice.
spicy salmon leftover crispy rice — the most ambitious of the three and the least appetizing photo but i was so proud of how these turned out! i will do a more documented process next time, but first used i mixed the leftover rice with rice vinegar and sesame oil and refridgerated (this recipe makes it very clear!) then i mixed the salmon with mirin, ponzu and yuzu mayo and japanese bbq sauce (i just used what i had) and topped with sesame seeds and avocado. THEY WERE SO GOOD!
salmon grain bowl — for my final meal (i was almost on the verge of getting sick of salmy), i just did a simple bowl with cucumber, arugula, quinoa lentil mix from hungryroot, all the fresh herbs i had and a sauce made with greek yogurt and avocado mixed together.
what i’ve watched

white lotus DUH. i know everyone is saying this season is slow or boring, but i actually think it’s my favorite? or i just love them all, but i’m fully in! i'm obsessed with chelsea (who isn’t) and i could watch the three women passive aggressively talk forever.
novocaine i was turned off by the marketing of this movie, when i see it promoted so hard i usually assume it’s out of desperation, but we went to see it and i enjoyed it. it wasn’t an amazing movie but it was totally fun.

heart eyes i actually saw this last month but somehow forgot to include it in the feb edit! i LOVED this movie! a slasher movie but also a romcom, as if it were made for me!! could it have been funnier or more logical? sure, but hey, it was a good time!
heretic if you enjoy hugh grant and you enjoy horror movies, then chances are you’ve probably already seen this but i liked it! he did a good job, basically just talking for 2 hours and being creepy.

kinda pregnant SO BAD. an amy schumer new netflix movie that has sort of a fun premise, i guess? how can a movie even be this bad?! 😆 yet i didn’t turn it off. i watched the whole thing and marveled at how bad it was the whole time.
quiz lady i randomly turned this on and thought it was a delight! sandra oh was so good (as always). a fun, sweet easy movie to watch!
what i’ve worn
this outfit has been on repeat — i’ve been wearing the jacket nonstop because it’s the perfect mom jacket (HUGE pockets to fit all sorts of things you’ll forget about) i sized up and i like the roomier fit. the jeans are now the most comfy pair i own and i love the cut.

old navy is way too cute right now — obsessed with anything pointelle and the green tee is perfect! also had to share this very fun blue tee, the cut is such a good staple tee.

as you can see i’m wearing the jacket with everything from date nights to hotel breakfasts in my pajamas.
what i’ve loved
having less— i learned to live with MUCH less this month. we threw a massive yard sale, purged a ton, and filled up a pod with things we thought we wouldn’t need for the next few months (regrettably packed some craft supplies i’ve needed, our cake pans and my butter yellow sezane mini purse i wish i had) but overall it’s taught me how much less crap i need around me! and our house still feels totally full of stuff so now i’m just questioning what’s in that pod and why we even need most of it!?
a weekend in santa barbara— we went out of town for the first weekend of open houses and stayed at the sweetest little hotel called the steward, it had fairly inexpensive suites to fit all four of us and a cute little pool. we had it be very intentionally lowkey. we visited cousins and good friends, visited the sea center and had a perfect beach picnic lunch at the shoreline beach cafe.
dinners out— we had two amazing date nights at budonoki and anajak thai (trying to hit up all the LA hot spots before it’s too late!) they were both so good but we already planned what we’d get next time if we go back to anajak.
if you’re a fellow daniel tiger parent, you’ll be thrilled to know our kids will turn out great from it and we’re doing great! arlo was obsessed for years and now izzy has taken the throne so if you’re wondering if we know every lyric to every song the answer is we are also expert harmonizers for every song at this point. arlo is almost 8 but he still totally enjoys watching it with izzy 🥺
this recipe for spicy chicken and cucumber ranch celery salad looks SO GOOD.

look at this little dream cottage in hudson valley!
because all i can think about is our new house, i started a housewarming wishlist i’ll probably devote a whole post to but here it is for now!
after googling mediterranean chicken restaurants in shoreline ct to not much avail, i decided to buy the kismet rotisserie cookbook. i’m gonna miss zankou so much too! now i’m thinking it would be cute to collect all the LA restaurant cookbooks…
love the idea of collecting LA cookbooks from your favorite places!!
I like the nod to Ettore Sottsass on that mirror.
